Xander Demos welcomed into the HeadlessUSA Family

Xander Demos was recently made a member of the HeadlessUSA family!!

HeadlessUSA is the world’s leading resource for headless guitar parts, accessories, and restorations—with a specialized focus on vintage Steinberger instruments. HeadlessUSA was founded as the passion project of Donald Greenwald, a New York resident who saw the Steinberger for what it is… a re-imagined guitar that took a bold step into the future and left the trappings of conventional designs and materials behind.

In the early 1990s, Steinberger ventured into the "super strat" market with a guitar featuring a headstock. Xander really wanted to own one and found them incredibly cool. Having played one in 1991, he was disappointed that it was far beyond his budget. Fast forward to today, the Steinberger GS has remained a sought-after instrument due to its limited production. When Xander could finally afford one, he went for it and has loved owning and playing it ever since.

The Steinberger GS is a guitar model known for its unique features including a transposing tremolo system and a headstock design, unlike many other Steinberger guitars which are headless. The neck is a bolt-on Steinberger Blend neck (a graphite and carbon fiber composite). The GS was made in the USA and was the last new model introduced before Gibson closed USA graphite production in 1998

The Steinberger GS had an impact on the design of Xander's signature XD Series guitars. David Thomas McNaught Guitars, the maker of my signature XD series guitars, perfectly captured the feel of the GS neck, except that it's crafted from wood rather than graphite.

Xander commented, "...although I play the only Steinberger with a headstock, it's great to be part of a team that is dedicated to the OG headless guitars that shaped a musical landscape. I mean, Eddie Van Halen and Vito Bratta? I am in great company!"

Xander would like thank Natalie Thayer for brining him into the Headless USA Family of players!
